Oh dear! I see that I have not updated since the summer! Busy busy busy! We have been  landscaping the area next to the new fence. The corner by the gate is now planted up. A gentle grassed curved pathway leads up to the fence line. This is placed over the old tree stumps so we can mow and keep tidy, until the stumps rot away. A huge mound of earth is waiting for better weather (It is snowing as I write) to get spread across this new planting area.

Opposite this area on the other side of the drive way, we have dug up the grass under the original cherry tree, making two curved flowerbeds, plus rearranged the rocks alongside the driveway to make a bay for  ornamental grasses growing out of gravel that connects to the drive way gravel. I have managed to plant a huge collection of Hellebores in this area, along with more Daylilies.

In the rear garden I have changed the way the area is used. As we have a mole problem, we are going to cover the planting areas to deter their diggings. This includes a raised flowerbed in the centre of the area, where the chickens used to be, then a new pathway alongside the conservatory, raising the planting level slightly.

I will close now, wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and fantastic gardens in 2015.
